Interpreting happens live: at negotiations, a conference, an equipment installation or a guided tour. These are the formats clients usually choose from.
Simultaneous interpreting
The interpretation runs at the same time as the speaker. It is what you need when no time can be lost: conferences, forums, press briefings, reporting sessions, online broadcasts. I work in a booth with equipment and also remotely — in Zoom, Teams and platforms with a simultaneous interpreting feature. For shifts longer than an hour I work with a partner interpreter: that is a quality standard, not a way to inflate the invoice.
Rate: from ₽6,000 per hour, minimum booking 4 hours. A full day from ₽40,000.
Consecutive interpreting
The speaker pauses and the interpretation follows. This format suits business negotiations, staff training, supervised installation and commissioning, interviews, filming, tours and business dinners. No equipment is required, so the rate is lower.
Rate: from ₽3,500 per hour, minimum booking 2 hours.
Escort and whispering
I stay next to one or two participants and interpret quietly: at a trade fair, on the shop floor, at an official reception or during a trip around the city. Convenient when you need an interpreter all day but not for the whole audience.
Rate: from ₽3,000 per hour, usually from 4 hours.
What I need from you in advance
- The event programme or a list of topics and participants.
- Slides, papers, company names, job titles and equipment names.
- The format: on site or online, whether a booth and equipment are available.
- Exact dates and hours, including breaks.
I use these materials to build the glossary — and the glossary is what makes terms and names come out right.
